The miseducation of the colored kids

Our schools are not designed to educate black children, that is why it is the parents job to do this at home. Teachers feel underpaid so they cheat our children out of the proper education they are entitled to. They don't go the extra mile and only teach children the minimum. There is not enough money going in to schools so there are insufficient materials for teaching. Children don't even have penmanship classes anymore, they don't understand script or cursive writing and they can't write it themselves. I work in a school and when I tell 17 and 18 year olds to SIGN IN they print their name. In order for a child to receive a fair education the parent MUST be involved. There's no other way around it! Teachers introduce new lessons through homework when they should be doing that in class while the children are in school. Homework is suppose to reinforce was learned in class, it is suppose to be practice. What happened to spelling words? Writing them 3 or 5 times each? Writing sentences and having a spelling test at the end of the week? The school system is failing our children only because parents are allowing it. How many parents are actively involved in their children's schooling? How many PTA meetings have you attended? How many parent teacher conferences? It is the responsibility of both the parent and the teacher. Remember "it takes a village to raise a child".
